What Gilda's Club IS
What Gilda's Club IS NOT
A Clubhouse for People Touched by Cancer--Any Cancer, Any Age. Gilda's Club IS NOT Just for Women.
Inspired by Saturday Night Live Comedian Gilda Radner, who died of ovarian cancer in 1989, Gilda's Club Madison is the 23rd clubhouse in North America. It is for men, women, and children of all ages.
A Place to Find Social and Emotional Support. Gilda's Club IS NOT Just for Women with Breast Cancer or Ovarian Cancer.
Through each other--whether during a support group or at an activity night, you will be able to connect with other members going through a similar cancer journey. It is for anyone, male or female, affected by ANY kind of cancer.
A Place to Learn From Others. Gilda's Club IS NOT a Residence or Place to Stay Overnight.
From professionals speaking about cancer-related topics
to the member you meet during yoga class--everyone has
a story to share.
Although it looks like a house, we do not have bedrooms or beds...but the couches are very comfortable! We are strictly a clubhouse for members to use during the day and some evenings.
A Place to Hang Out and to Call your Own. Gilda's Club IS NOT Just for People with Cancer.
Between treatments or after a shopping trip, our
clubhouse is open to members to grab a juice and cookie, hang out by the fire, hop onto a computer in our resource area, or to simply take a nap on our couches...whatever the need, the clubhouse is theirs.
It is for anyone touched by cancer...from friends or family of someone who has or had cancer, to those just diagnosed, going through treatment, or in remission...we're here for you!
A Place to Laugh!
Or cry if need be...it is a place to be yourself and express yourself.
FREE!
Gilda's Club never--nope, never--charges members any fees whatsoever! you can't charge for what is given from the heart.
