New Member Meetings

New Member Meetings are
open to the person living with cancer, and equally, to family and friends of
those living with cancer, as well as family and friends of those who have
died from cancer. To
find a schedule of upcoming New Member Meetings, look at our
Monthly Calendar.
New Member Meetings are
easy and free. They are scheduled throughout the month – mornings,
afternoons, evenings and weekends – and last about 90 minutes. They include
a tour of the Clubhouse and a detailed explanation of our innovative
program. At the New Member Meeting, you will fill out your own Customized
Membership Plan (CMP). Every Gilda’s Club in the country has some version
of a CMP because we believe each individual’s cancer journey is unique.
The CMP is designed to help you get the most out of
your membership at Gilda’s Club. It
also helps the Program
Staffdesign our monthly
Calendar around the
activities most requested. Once you complete your CMP, you are a member and
join others in the Gilda’s community who “get it.” You can attend workshops
and lectures with experts from the community who will teach you self-care,
mind-body skills, or the latest in cancer treatments. Membership also means
you can participate in a monthly networking group, or after a short meeting
with Program Staff,
a weekly support group. And best of all, membership means not being alone.
You can join other members at our monthly social events or just hang out.

Youth New Member Meetings
also are available once a month in conjunction with Adult & Teen New Member
Meetings. These meetings are designed for those interested in becoming
members who have children ages 5 – 12. Adults will attend their meeting
while their child(ren) meet with the Youth Program Manager for their own orientation to Gilda’s
Club. If children cannot attend, they can still become members through their
parent’s attendance at an adult New Member Meeting. For more information
about the Youth Program at
Gilda’s Club, contact Program
Manager
