Support groups meet weekly or bi-weekly and are for
everyone in the family. All groups are facilitated by licensed mental health
professionals. Support groups include Family Night and both daytime and
evening groups. We offer simultaneous groups for the person living with
cancer (Wellness Group), and for supporting adults (Family &
Friends). In addition, on Family Night, there is a combined group for
teens living with cancer and those who have a family member or friend with
cancer (Teen Time), and groups for children 5-12 who either have
cancer or know someone with cancer (Kids Talk).

We also offer bi-weekly groups for those who are bereaved
due to a cancer death. At Gilda’s Grief Gathering, we facilitate groups for
the whole family – separate groups for Adults, Teens & Kids.
In all support groups, a regular commitment is requested, and members must
first meet with a Program Staff person to receive group
placement. Childcare, which we call Noogieplay, could be arranged in
conjunction with all support groups. Please note that even with ample
notice, we may not be able to guarantee Noogieplay coverage due to the
scheduling limitations of our screened, trained Noogieplay volunteers.
