Attend a Gilda’s 101 Volunteer Training session to learn the basics of our program and the benefits to being involved with Gilda’s Club Madison. Gilda's 101 sessions take place the 2nd Monday of every month from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Clubhouse. Please call or email to let us know you are coming. 

Club House Team Volunteer Positions

Office & General Support Volunteer

Goal: Assist staff in clerical/office duties.

Objective: To assist behind the scenes at Gilda’s Club when needed.

Responsibilities: Assist office staff with computer work, database work, send information out to interested parties, assist in bulk mailings.

Qualifications: Good interpersonal skills and warmth, and a desire to help behind the scenes in a variety of projects. Pass background check if working with members or member information.

Training/Supervision: Volunteer to be trained, supervised by Gilda’s Club staff.  Some assignments may be limited to non-members only.

Evaluation: Informal feedback; one-on-one consultation.

Commitment: Attend Gilda’s 101 Volunteer Training, volunteer as schedule allows and as needed.

Clubhouse House Beautiful Team Volunteer

Goal: To maintain the grounds around the Clubhouse as well as interior.

Objective: To keep the grounds and Clubhouse clean and beautiful and utilize volunteers who have an interest in gardening or house maintenance.

Responsibilities: Assist with various kinds of yard work (i.e. raking leaves, collecting branches and litter, and planting) and household projects.  Tasks may also include flower pickup and arranging, Noogieland disinfecting, and other assignments.   Also recruit groups to help (youth groups, school groups, scouts, etc.).

Qualifications: Anyone that is interested in helping keep the Clubhouse and grounds looking beautiful. Pass background check if working on grounds during hours when members come into clubhouse. Members may apply for this position.

Training/Supervision: Gilda’s 101 Volunteer Training recommended but not required.

Evaluation: Informal feedback; one-on-one consultation.

Commitment: As schedule allows.

Library / Resource Room Attendant

Goal: To utilize a volunteer to monitor resource room and materials.

Objective: To provide a place where members can relax, read, access the internet and find resource materials.

Responsibilities: To keep resources organized as the system has been set up on the library.  Serve as a resource for members on using the computer, and assist in gathering books, materials, and articles.

Qualifications: Anyone with an interest or experience with library organization and/or computers. Pass background check. Members may apply for this position.

Training/Supervision: Gilda’s 101 Volunteer Training session and supervision sessions recommended but not required.

Evaluation: Informal feedback; one-on-one consultation.

Commitment: Flexible schedule and the availability to check-in materials and re-shelve books and materials every week or every other week.
