Goal: To create community awareness about Gilda’s Club.
Objective: To increase awareness of Gilda’s Club mission and increase membership.
Responsibilities: Connect with community through service-related groups, hand out literature to healthcare providers, schools, churches, social service agencies, businesses, neighborhood organizations, etc. Venues may include Farmer’s Market, Health Fairs, community runs/walks, etc.
Qualifications: Anyone who has an interest in spreading the word about Gilda’s Club and working with community organizations. Members may apply for this position.
Training/Supervision: Attend Gilda’s 101 Volunteer Training & additional training by Gilda’s Club staff, volunteer supervision sessions recommended, but not required.
Evaluation: Informal feedback; one on one consultation.
Commitment: As schedule allows.
Goal: Plan, coordinate and staff special events that build awareness and/or raise funds for Gilda’s Club.
Objective: Create community awareness about Gilda’s Club and brainstorm for new ideas and projects.
Responsibilities: Brainstorm, plan, and implement special events, assist at third part fund raising events.
Qualifications: Anyone with an interest in working with the community and Gilda’s Club in planning and coordinating special events. Experience in public relations and marketing helpful. Pass background check if working with members. Members may apply for this position.
Training/Supervision: Gilda’s 101 Volunteer Training and volunteer supervision sessions recommended, but not required unless the event involves members or is at the clubhouse when members are present.
Evaluation: Informal feedback; one-on-one consultation.
Commitment: As schedule allows and as special events occur.
