Gilda’s Club Madison Wisconsin is delighted to announce two important and major gifts. Land is being donated by John K. Livesey and John P. Livesey of the Livesey Company, and a $500,000 contribution has been given by William and Jan DeAtley.

Through the generosity of John K. Livesey and John P. Livesey of the Livesey Company, Gilda’s Club Madison Wisconsin is receiving a gift of land at Discovery Springs in Middleton, Wisconsin for the location of a Clubhouse. The Discovery Springs Project covers 100 acres on the corner of University Avenue and Highway 12.

“We are committed to Gilda’s Club,” said John K. Livesey, “and to donating the land necessary to build the Clubhouse. We are dedicated to working with the city of Middleton and Gilda’s Club to move forward.”

William and Jan DeAtley have donated $500,000 to help build the Clubhouse and operate free programs of emotional and social support for families touched by cancer that will take place at Gilda’s Club.

“We feel that Gilda’s Club is brand new in the area and that it fills a void in the community,” said Jan DeAtley. “Bill and I want to help create Gilda’s Club, a place everyone can go that will provide education and support, free of charge, for people living with cancer.”

“With three out of four families touched by cancer in their lifetimes, Gilda’s Club Madison Wisconsin will be conducting a vigorous fundraising campaign so that the Madison community will have access to the free Gilda’s Club program of support when a cancer diagnosis happens,” said Cindy Alvarez, Chair of the Board and Fundraising Co-Chair. “Our goal is to raise $3.5 million to be used for Clubhouse construction, furnishings and two years of operating expenses.”

“Thanks to these two generous donations, we anticipate starting construction of Gilda’s Club Madison Wisconsin in the spring of 2007,” said Sara Sinaiko, Chief Executive Officer.
