Gilda's Club is named after comedian Gilda Radner, best known for her work on Saturday Night Live, who died of ovarian cancer in 1989. Since its inception in 1995, the Gilda’s Club program has made a difference in the lives of thousands of people in many communities across the U.S. and Canada (see Frequent Questions for more). At Gilda's Clubs there is a place for everyone: for those newly diagnosed, in treatment, and beyond, whether that includes the loss of a loved one... or, "I'm cured and that's great... but now what?" In Wellness and Networking Groups, members come together around common needs and share their experiences, questions, and feelings while participating in support groups, lectures, workshops, and a wide variety of social events. (Program Information) Noogieland is a place where kids and teens impacted by cancer can find respite, fun, and a lot of understanding. The clubhouse is open to members most days and evenings, and membership is free. Local affiliates originate from and are
supported by
individuals, foundations, and corporate donors in each community, with non-financial support from Gilda's Club Worldwide. The network has expanded to include
more than 20,000 members in 20 cities including New York, Chicago, Dallas, Seattle, Toronto, and many others, including the recently-opened Gilda's Club of Southeastern Wisconsin in Milwaukee. Many more clubs
are in development and Gilda’s Club Madison Wisconsin is one of the newest members of this network. To see where other Gilda's Clubs are located and/or to contact another club visit Gilda's Club Worldwide.
