Our Patient Advocate can meet with individual members virtually to help them navigate cancer-related challenges with:
- Insurance coverage: benefits and denials
- Medical billing issues
- Disability
- ADA and employer accommodations
- Clinical trial navigation
- Identifying diagnosis-specific resources
- Information and referrals to local, regional and national resources for anyone impacted by cancer
- Facilitating conversations about Advanced Directives
- Working with veterans and families in securing primary medical care, caregiving support and other resources through the federal VA system
- Helping with logistics when seeking medical care in other states or within other systems
- Longterm care insurance – are there benefits within your policy that can be utilized now?
- Transitions in care team as care plan evolves

Meet Our Patient Advocate
Debby Deutsch
Debby Deutsch is a Board Certified Patient Advocate who has a long history of service as a hospital chaplain and a hospice worker. She has been serving members of Gilda’s Club Madison as a Patient Advocate since 2016. Additionally, she has founded and leads a team of nursing, case management and medical billing advocates in her private practice. Debby’s philosophy of patient advocacy is meeting folks where they are at in their health journey, and empowering them with knowledge, tools and resources, so they can confidently move forward in navigating our healthcare and insurance systems.
